I'm a web designer and frontend developer in Lagos, Nigeria. I build WordPress sites that businesses can run themselves, and React and Next.js features for product teams.

Since 2021 I've built websites for property developers, an offshore drilling company, a conference booking service, a culture festival and a cybersecurity school, usually in WordPress, from the Figma file or first brief through hosting, DNS and launch. Over the last two years I've moved deeper into code: 66 merged pull requests in open-source projects, and frontend work on Boundless and Useroutr.

AfrikCity
Deployment & repair · 2025
AfrikCity, a real estate and urban development company in Enugu, needed its WordPress site deployed, configured and made reliable. There was nothing to redesign; the work was in the plumbing. The company has since rebuilt its site on a different stack.
- Set up the hosting environment, domain and DNS records
- Traced and fixed SMTP problems that were stopping contact-form and transactional emails
- Resolved plugin conflicts and server settings that made the site unstable
- Tuned performance and handed over a production-ready site

[ How I work ]
One thread from the first sketch to the site still running.
01 · Design
It usually starts with a Figma file, or a conversation.
I build from designers' files, or design the site myself when there isn't one. Either way, I decide early what should be a template, a reusable component or a one-off.
02 · Build
WordPress when a business runs it. React when it's a product.
Elementor, ACF and WooCommerce for sites a team updates on its own. Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind inside product codebases, following the conventions already there.
03 · Run
Then the quiet part: hosting, DNS, email, speed.
Domains, SMTP, plugin conflicts, Core Web Vitals. A lot of what breaks on a website breaks after launch, so I stay for that part too.

Learning in public, one merged PR at a time.
Most of my React and TypeScript experience comes from other people's codebases: picking up an issue, reading how the project already does things, and shipping a change the maintainers are happy to merge. Contributions came through OnlyDust, Drips Wave and GrantFox, and directly with teams like Boundless.

I'm Ekene. I started building websites in 2021 as an assistant web designer at Nergy Web Designs, and from 2024 to early 2026 I led web design at Aska.io Creations. Most of that was WordPress: property listings, hotel bookings, company sites, and keeping them healthy after handover.
Alongside client work I finished a degree in Computer Science and started contributing to open-source frontends. That grew into my job: since July 2026 I've been a frontend developer at Boundless, and I'm also one of the developers building Useroutr.
Right now I'm interested in frontend roles on product teams, and in website projects where design and build both matter.
